AccuStream iMedia Research has released a new report on Web listening trends, entitled
"Net Music Radio 2007–2010: Listening Hour Analysis by Site and Brand."
The study looks at the past four years and predicting the future up to 2010.
AccuStream defines music radio online as live streaming channels and individual streaming tracks combined.
In 2008, total listening hours averaged 404.2 million hours per month (not counting downloaded music),
way up from a 320.5 million average the year before. For the year, there were 4.85 billion total listening hours,
a 26.1 percent increase over 2007."
"After speeding past the $100-billion mark just three years ago, online sales topped $200 billion
in 2007. According to The State of Retailing Online, the annual Shop.org study conducted by
Forrester Research, Inc. of 174 retailers, 2009 online sales (including travel)
are expected to rise 25 percent."
